Henry American Eagle. The American bald eagle has served as the national bird of America since 1782, six years after our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence. Its majesty, strength, and tenacity personify the United States of America’s significant position on the international stage.
The Henry American Eagle rifle captures the distinctive features of our country’s national bird of prey with a wood finish that is unique to our line and closely resembles the appearance of ivory. To highlight the wood grain and create a natural appearance, layers of primer and ivory paint are applied to our prized American walnut and sanded down in between coats.
The wood is then intricately carved in an ivory tone. A lush vine surround with aggressive checkering highlights the head of our American bald eagle and the scripted words “AMERICAN EAGLE” etched on the buttstock at the wrist. The name of our organization is deeply checkered and surrounded by flowing scrollwork on the rifle’s forearm. A fixative is applied to the wood after engraving to preserve the stocks and retain the color where it belongs.
The Golden Boy platform was used to construct the rifle, which has a shining nickel-plated receiver cover, buttplate, and barrel band. In stark contrast to the ivory and silver, the 20″ octagonal barrel is deeply blued. It is topped with a fully-adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight and a brass bead front sight.
